…when they said “don’t blink,” they were right. In the thick of it, you don’t realize how quickly the moments slip. You don’t notice that the last time they wrapped their little arms around your neck and whispered, “I wub you, Mommy,” would be the last time it sounded just like that. You don’t notice the final night they asked for one more bedtime story, the last time they needed you to tie their shoes, or the last time they reached for your hand without thinking.
